EP 29 - Why We Work the 12 Steps

Jeffrey and Troy discuss why the 12 steps are the backbone of the program. 12 step recovery groups are not just accountability groups. They offer mentorship, fellowship, and a "design for living that really works". Most people don't need a book to teach them how to live, but we certainly did.
The twelve steps have been helping addicts of all varieties get sober ever since their conception in the 1930s by Bill W and Dr. Bob. We are very grateful for them, and for the first 100 sober members of AA who co-wrote the book "Alcoholics Anonymous" (AKA the big book), which is the spark that has ignited the flame of real, lasting sobriety for millions of people worldwide. Jeffrey and Troy are happy to share about why the steps are so crucial to working a successful addiction recovery program.
